Natural stones are the most important and most important minerals around the world, which are widely used in various applications, and in particular construction. It can be said that the use of natural stones returns to a very long time and can be seen in existing monuments around the world.

Today, these minerals are used extensively because of their beauty, variety, and resistance. Diversity in natural stones allows for all architects and employers to make this product in accordance with their needs as well as their design.

Types of Natural Stone in Iran

1. Igneous rocks

Igneous rocks are formed from freezing and crystallization of molten material in the ground. These rocks are divided into four groups of acid, intermediate, play and super-play. Also based on tissue, they are divided into five categories: coarse texture, microfiber, glass, porphyry, and sponge.

2. Sedimentary rocks

3. Transforming rocks

Examples of natural stone types in Iran

1. Granite

Granite is an igneous rock. This stone is used for a variety of uses because of its very beautiful texture. The main use of this stone is to build the floor of the building.

2. Marble

Marble is a type of metamorphic rock. It has carbonate and has a crystalline texture due to its pressure and heat. Generally, in Iran, marble is divided into three groups based on the size of the crystals:

• Fine crystal
• Coarse crystal
• Non-recognizable crystals

3. Travertine

It is a rock of sedimentary rocks and is caused by the deposits of calcium carbonate in hot water. The stone is found in cream, brown, yellow, white and gray colors.

Natural stones of Iran due to their variety and high quality are exported to different countries and are of interest to all craftsmen.
