Types of Natural Stone in Iran

  1. Igneous rocks

Marble is a type of metamorphic rock. It has carbonate and has a crystalline texture due to its pressure and heat. Generally, in Iran, marble is divided into three groups based on the size of the crystals:

  1. Travertine

It is a rock of sedimentary rocks and is caused by the deposits of calcium carbonate in hot water. The stone is found in cream, brown, yellow, white and gray colors.
